Are you saying that Tween is a typo because I bet its not. People say tween for kids 10-12 because there is no teen at the end of the number and some people don't think they are still kids so they are inbetweens instead of teens

If you are talking about anything else I didn't look long enough to see anything.
I could say they spelled neighbourhood wrong but thats because I am Canadian.

What's sad is that you probably have to talk to them way before the "tween" years

Nowadays yeah... its a little disgusting. I remember being at my taekwon-do classes and hearing the younger members (like 6-10) talking about boyfriends or girlfriends... It made me sick to my stomach.

Back in the day we were taught "family life" at school. The sad part is that in 6th grade they'd talk about hygine. 7th and 8th grades they would talk ONLY about AIDS and drugs. I guess it's their way of not getting into "eww nasty!" subjects such as syphillis or condoms. How to prevent getting a baby? Who knows, eh?

I learned what sex was at 5 from a friend =O
I had my first "boyfriend" at 10 and first makeout with a guy at 11 (same guy).
But my first kiss was when I was lying in bed next to my girl friend when I was 10.
I lol at me. If only my mom knew... xD

Sex is just everywhere - and even if it wasn't all over the media, I don't think it's something that should be hidden from kids either. I think the harmful part is when it's glorified (like drinking) in the media. The first thing I learned about sex was that it's a beautiful thing, and I think it's better to have that view of sex, even at 5, than learning at 8-10 what sex is from a steamy scene on TV, etc. Do you really want to hear "mommy, is that sex?" after a steamy and drunken scene in a nightclub bathroom that leads to lots of moaning and then never seeing the person again? Sad world, but it's the one created for us.

I guess, get to your kids before someone else does =O
