By tying thousands of balloon to his home, 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America. Right after lifting off, however, he learns he isn't alone on his journey, since Russell, a wilderness explorer 70 years his junior, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip.

Just like with the last 3 the lack of personal input is a little annoying. A review is for your general thoughts on a movie not just posting a picture or linking to an imdb link or otherwise.

Maybe some good and bad points about the movie? I don't even know why you post these if you're not going to do that. Just assigning a rating out of 10 isn't enough either.

For a kids movie it was pretty funny. You have to ignore physics/logic for most of the movie but still I enjoyed it. My gf and I went to a 3D showing which was pretty fun.

The Golden Retriever cracked me up so much. "Hi there..." "Would you be my prisoner?"

    8/10

No, I have no problem with you. What I do have a problem with is your perception of what a review is. In a forum marked "Reviews" you expect to read a post with a persons thoughts and feelings on whatever medium is being reviewed. I think the post by The Communist demonstrates that point nicely. On 3 separate occasions (that includes this one) you have failed to do that very thing. In no way is this an attack on you as a person. Just a suggestion on what you can do to make your posts more informative. If you choose to take offense so be it.

i would have to agree that a review should have some general thoughts from the reviewer... else what's the point.
Valindria's post is a good example of some personal thoughts on the movie. Though the spoiler portion in Binary's post is kind of her review, I know many people aren't going to spoil it for themselves to read a review under

I thought it was fantastic! I will honestly say that this was probably my most favorite Pixar movie to date. I was crying in some parts, and laughing so hard I was crying. The story was wonderfully done and the imagery was all top notch. So many things really made me smile in this movie its hard to count. Anyone who is a pixar nut MUST see this movie. I saw it in 3d and I thought it made it that much better. I liked the 3d mostly because it didn't feel tacked on (like when they throw stuff at the screen towards you artificially), it brought the world to life.

    9/10 for me

  11. Very depressing movie. The Kid and the dog are funny, the rest is just sad stuff. The previews never mentionthat the old man is taking the trip because his wife died, he can't pay his bills and he wants to go there and die.

I don't think he wants to go there to die. He is trying to fulfill a promise he made to his wife that he would take her to see this lost land when they were little. Life got in the way and they were never able to make it there. He is doing this as the last thing he could for her, not because he can't pay his bills.

The movie can be depressing, but it has so many moments that are just full of pure joy. One moment I was crying and the next I was laughing. I think this is my favorite Pixar movie because of the characters and more adult story. Kids will enjoy the antics of the boy, bird and dog, but adults will appreciate what Carl goes through for the love of his life. It plays on a level that children may not be able to grasp, but it will not dilute the quality of the movie for them.
