Shit like that just perpetuates racism. If you take offense to everything, you're no better than the people who spout racist slurs 24/7.

Yea that kind of thing only makes racism worse when you can't say anything without offending someone you just stop caring and start spouting racial slurs because in the end it the same reactions. People need to grow up a bit and not be offended by everything. Oh and look at the poll
Is the term "Black Hole" racist?
    Poll Results:
    Yes
    2.37%
    No
    97.63%

    oh that rules...
just wait in nine months Miriam-Webster will re-define a black hole as a racist term and singularities as being against stellar based Affirmative Action laws.
"can i get an apology" FFS!
Texas and Fox News...can't make that shit up.

I can kind of understand getting mad over some things even as far out as angel's/devil's food cake, but black hole? I don't know, but it seems silly to be mad over a term like black hole. It is obviously a reference to lack of light, but, hell, I wouldn't even mind if something as interesting as a black hole was named after me.

The obvious solution to this is to remove the archaic connotation of the adjective "black" as according to the Oxford English Dictionary which defines it as "of the very darkest colour owing to the absence of or complete absorption of light". This definition is obviously racist in today's world owing to the fact that it existed first as a designation of color or absence of light and came to become a slur. In essence, the solution is to remove the work black from our language, make it a social taboo. Much like anyone except, to be politically correct, an African American to say the word n***er. Now, we will need to invent a new word to house the definition of darkest color and the other, non racist definitions. I now designate the word squiddlydoodlefluffer to house those definitions, as not to offend anyone. I hope to first earn the endorsement of Merrian Webster, then eventually Oxford. This way, we can cease these problems with racist terms like Black Hole, Black Box and Black Monday (and to a lesser extent Black Sabbath). Finally America will be on a path to pure harmony where no one will be offended when we eventually switch over to a simple more pure newspeak language where offense will be gone and Political Correctness will be the only medium of communication.

  12. Well, look at this part of the poll...
    Total number of votes: 17422

apparently that means theres 15,000 people who think that guy is a dumass.

Unfortunately its views like his that are the main reason for perpetuating racial stereotypes. He probably takes offense at sharpie whenever he sees a black marker.

No because the black marker totally pwns the white board.

  14. In that case he takes offense at dry erasers because they rid the white board of the black mark.

I like sharpies... except THE sharpie...
I used this sharpie on a tennis ball once to make it black... the tennis ball fur acts as felt and DOES NOT DRY, EVER. It just continually releases toxic fumes in a 5-10' radius.
