Friend of mine is a DJ and made this in tribute to DJ AM; I thought it was pretty good. Like most recent celebs; he was found dead with a belly full of pills (OxyContin)

Can't comment on the music.. but this guy doesn't deserve a RIP.. mother fucker survives a plane crash with nothing really wrong with him and then a year later ODs.. Don't believe in god but if he exists.. why the hell is he saving losers like this? Waste of space..

Maybe he was so depressed about surviving when no one else did but him and Barker... So maybe he OD's himself in order to get out life?

I dunno, but still, he was a great DJ, but what he did at the end of his life, everyone will remember him for, not for what he did to become famous, but the one mistake he made at the end that cost him his life.

I think he was trying to commit suicide. I mean 8 undigested pills and one in your mouth.. sounds fishy to me...

But this thread shouldn't be about bashing him or what he did, its a thread where the OP is showing his friends work for who his FRIEND liked and respected.

The very fact that he did survive that plane crash is the reason he OD'ed......walk a mile, toast.

Yes a few burns here and there.. Was he still able to do normal life shit? Yes. I'm sorry but committing suicide is pathetic and I won't be one bit sad for him at all. Call me a cold hearted dick thats fine he still doesn't deserve any sympathy..

The physicality of the burns and 'ability' to do normal life stuff probably has very little to do with the possible suicide, and is a very superficial way to look at someone who deals with a post sudden-traumatic situation in which you are a one of the lone survivors and hold alot of guilt for that.

I wouldn't call you a cold-hearted dick... You may simply just not have the same level of compassion as others, or maybe lack the experience or imagination necessary to have great empathy for another individual in certain situations. That type of ignorance is true for most people though, and we all have different values which make up our particular perspective.

I know nothing of him or his music, but I understand his situation a bit. Shame.

You can't really say it was suicide, since it may have just been an accidental OD... regardless, that will never be known for sure.

Also, as Dash said, walk a mile. Have you witnessed four people, that you know and work with, suddenly die? Do you know what it feels like? Probably not, because if you did, you'd probably be a little bit more sympathetic.

Also, he was in intensive care and was in critical condition. I'd hardly call that a few burns here and there.

Normally, I'm the heartless bastard taking your side, but I know what depression and PTSD can do, having dealt with friends who were suicidal.

I know a bit of survivor guilt...my ex wife. Together 20 years. I know he was suffering.

Its been over 24 years ..she was the sole survivor. Not one day or night went by without her suffering over it. Its the reason for her self - destructive behavior.

one day some of the above posters will understand...it takes maturity and also experience... don't be too hard on them.

We have all said things borne of youth.
