Basic XoO Information (Answers)

1) Question: When and where was Xen of Onslaught first started and what is the history behind the XoO name?
Answer: XoO first stated in 2002 with a game called Planetside. The game featured skill-based FPS combat mixed with an MMORPG setting. Since then XoO or Xen of Onslaught has branched out into multiple games both FPS and MMORPG alike and has put together some of the best players gaming today to achieve domination across multiple gaming fronts.

2) Question: What is this I hear about you getting into a lot of betas?
Answer: Xen of Onslaught is a well respected guild across the gaming community and our notoriety has likewise reached the ears and eyes of various gaming companies and developers.

We pride ourselves on partaking in many focus tests, alphas, betas, and guild testing cycles and providing accurate and constructive feedback to the developers as well as tracking bugs and exploits that may potentially harm the game.

We have a proven track record of gaming excellence since 2002 and have accomplished a lot on most every large MMORPG to date since then.

XoO has entered into formal agreements with various development teams to do large scale testing with 50+ members and smaller scale testing alike.

We take testing very seriously and will only allow members who have the ability to properly test and provide the proper feedback needed to respond to whatever element the developers are asking and we hold true to the NDA's so do not join if you are just looking for a quick ride into betas or are looking to gather information about a game.

3) Question: XoO is pretty big. How does this effect me?
Answer: We have been around for a long time and as such we have a lot of members who enjoy each others company so much that they decide to stay for may years. This builds into a community where we enjoy the luxury of playing with each other from game to game rather than spending time looking for a new guild when a new game comes out.

Xen of Onslaught boasts hundreds of members, however, this does not mean we all play the same game. We play a multitude of games and average 80 members per game. For games which require a larger force to dominate or games with such a massive show of support for the game we may get over 120+ members into a single game.

XoO prides itself on getting to know every member and we expect everyone to participate in the larger community. To this extent we treat every member as a member and not as a random number in the guild.

4) Question: Is XoO considered casual or hardcore?
Answer: XoO does not bother classifying hardcore or casual. We are competitive players. We play to win, but we also play to have fun. We have done very well for ourselves and for a more complete list of our accolades please visit our History page.

5) Question: Is XoO PvP or PvE oriented?
Answer: Xen of Onslaught is primarily a PvP oriented guild, however, we engage in all aspects of gaming and if a particularly good PvE game releases and we have interest in that game we delve into that as well. Xen of onslaught strives to achieve greatness in whatever it is we undertake and dominate in every aspect of gaming.

6) Question: Who made that awesome banner?
Answer: Kellexx and Kyoji (who is master of the universe, but really just likes peanut butter).

Recruit Information (Answers)

1) Question: Who are the leader(s) I should talk to about a specific game?
Answer: To find the current XoO Leadership please visit this page. Leadership for each game can also be found on the division pages located on the main page.

2) Question: What should I know as an applicant to any of the divisions?
Answer: It would be a good idea to read the FAQ and general guild-wide policies stated in the Code of Conduct. Also, you will want to read any stickies or "Read Me's" posted in that divisions section as many divisions have stipulations on what is required to maintain membership status. Examples of this include activity policies, mandatory raid policies, etc, each depending on the division you are joining. If you have any further questions feel free to simply PM and ask an officer or game leader for that division.

3) Question: What are the requirements for joining XoO?
Answer: All recruits must be 18+ years of age. If you are late 16 or 17 and are interested in applying feel free to do so. Game leaders can make exceptions for mature under-age players if the player presents themselves in an adult manner.

All recruits must have voice communications. We are currently using TeamSpeak 3 and all recruits are expected to have it installed and hop online.

Being in TeamSpeak3 is REQUIRED while playing unless there is some pertinent reason why you may not login, which must be cleared by your leadership for your division.

4) Question: If I'm under 18 can I still apply?
Answer: Yes, as stated above you may apply if you are under the age of 18. Exceptions are occasionally made if the recruit shows strong dedication and maturity.

5) Question: Can I join more than one division?
Answer: Yes, you may join more than one division, however, you will be expected to follow that divisions rules and regulations, even if they differ from another divisions rules and regulations. Please be apprised of any requirements or standards needed to be a member and some divisions may require you to apply even if you are a long-time member.

6) Question: What do you look for in new members?
Answer: New members are expected to enjoy PvP, support the guild with unquestioned loyalty, and do what they can do make XoO the best and most competitive in every game we play. You must have the mindset to win and do your best.

7) Question: Are there any activity requirements?
Answer: All activity requirements demanded from recruits are specified in each specific division standards. Some divisions may require you to put more time and effort into a game than others. Just keep up to date on each divisions standards.

Member Information (Answers)

1) Question: Who can I talk to if I have an issue with my game leader/officer/Xenate member/admin?
Answer: If you have a problem with any of the game leaders, Xenate, or admin please notify dash about your concerns. If you have a problem with any of the officer core please notify your respective game leader "CO".

2) Question: What happens if I leave the game I joined for, but I enjoy the community and wish to play with XoO in the future?
Answer: If you leave XoO you may return only if you did not leave on negative circumstances, did not join an opposing guild on the same server, and were not removed from your division on negative terms or banned. Otherwise you are free to re-join at any time.

3) Question: Is there any XoO merchandice avaliable?
Answer: We have XoO merchandise, however, at this time the store is not available.

4) Question: There is a game I play with other XoO members but we don't have a supported division, how do we set one up?
Answer: First and foremost supported divisions are comprised of games where XoO is currently most active in and has a strong following and playerbase. In order to become supported there are a few steps that must be done first.

Supported divisions require 25+ active members found in XoO. In order to stay supported you must also meet the requirements of staying supported. There are different and varying levels of supported status in XoO.

5) Question: I know of this really awesome game coming up, how can I get XoO involved in it?
Answer: First gather support for a game and gain interest. Then fill out an organizer application and once you meet the requirements you may begin recruiting.

6) Question: If I join a division, then want to join another division do I have to apply again. Can I be denied in the new division even though I am an existing member of Xen?
Answer: Some divisions may require you to apply again. As a current XoO member you are granted certain privileges other recruits do not receive. You can join any division, however, you are expected to abide by the rules and regulations set by that divisions leadership. Furthermore, some divisions have special slotting for raiding, etc and by joining a division doesn't mean you will automatically be participating in those activities.

7) Question: What if I leave XoO in general and take a hiatus? Can I come back, or do I have to reapply again?
Answer: Most of our divisions, if not all, will have a timeout period where inactive members will be removed from the division. Policies on how they are re-integrated back into the guild are based on each respective division, however, globally there is an inactive usergroup that everyone will go to if they are inactive for more than 2 months. When you return you will be placed in a default forum member usergroup and may be unable to view the forums if you were removed from the division as well at which point you will need to re-apply to the usergroup.

8) Question: What if I wanted to be a division leader, or I think I can do the job better than the current one? Do we have something in place for this?
Answer:

9) Question: How do I handle a dispute between another member in another division?
Answer: If you feel a member is breaking a rule or who's post/thread is offensive then report the post using the Report Post function located on the bottom left of each post. If it is something else then contact the game leader for that division or if you do not know which division they are from then PM a Xenate member or dash.

10) Question: Who and what is the "Xenate"?
Answer: The Xenate is comprised of the CO's and select XO's of every supported division. There are also a handful of extra members who are there on the basis of various tasks that are required and that need to be performed. To view a complete list of Xenate Members please view the "Forum Leaders List".

11) Question: What is "Roll Call"?
Answer: Roll Call is a system implemented to gather data about division members and activity within that division. When required there will be a message across your screen to vote and participate in the process. Vote for any game(s) you are active in or vote for "Not playing any games" if you are not currently in any divisions. If the division is for an upcoming game then vote based on activity on the forums and planned attendance in the game on release.

12) Question: Can I join a XoO division, leave and join another guild then come back to XoO?
Answer: Short answer is no. If you leave to join another guild you will not be permitted to come back to XoO in the future.
